Hey, Law. I promised that we'd continue our training. Sorry it took so long for me to prepare for it.

[He did promise Law that they'll learn dreamotion together. Alphen looks a little different now because he's wearing an entirely new set of armor. His outfit is covered in gold and white accents. Law might recognize it as the Sovereign's outfit. ]

I know you've been wanting to get stronger. So let's take this one step at a time. We can start whenever you're ready.

[Law stares at the page for a minute. Is he seriously seeing this? Is Alphen seriously asking him if he has diarrhea now?]

Uhh... Not since the last time I ate your cooking.

[The incidents have lessened drastically since Kisara established her totalitarian rule over the kitchen.]

[the sudden white certainly does catch Law's attention, after having gotten used to seeing Alphen out of it for so long.]

Busting out the Sovereign gear just for me, huh?

You might want to drink more water next time you have my cooking.

That could help with your butt problems.

I'm only using the right combination of ingredients so that it can be delicious. Next time we eat meals together I really want you to try this beefsteak recipe.

I can't keep holding myself back because I'm worried I'll lose control of my own power. We need to fight so we can protect what's most important. Your dad is the one who taught me that.

[ Using the Sovereign's power is risky but what choice does he really have? Certainly it'll help with training and Alphen's prepared for that. Law's looking serious about training. ]

What about you? Have you come prepared? I'll wait if you need more time.

[Alphen, the water isn't the problem. You coating your food in so much spice that it turns black when cooking is the problem.....]

How about you run it by Kisara first? I'm sure she can find ways to cut back on your spice addiction without ruining the taste.

[We need to fight so we can protect what's most important. Yeah... That sounds like something his dad said. A lot, actually... Law's all too familiar with the things Zephyr said, both to him and to his crew. If only he'd taken those words more seriously back then. Then maybe Zephyr...

...Nah, he can't think about that now. Getting all caught up in the could haves or would haves isn't the way to live.]

There's no time like the present, Alphen. Let's get it on!

She did offer to help with it earlier.

I've already cut back on spice before. Do you still think it's too much?

[ Some of those were even Zephyr's dying words so of course Alphen remembers them. He wishes that he could have learned a lot more from Zephyr. Their time together was cut short and it was a tragedy. Alphen felt powerless to act back then but now he's determined to see that change.]

You're right. Let's go!

[ Alphen takes in a deep breath and calls for the Sovereign's crest. He taps into a power that caused him great suffering. By combining his abilities with dreamotion he creates something similar to the Blazing Sword. The flames are burning away at his hands and arms.

Not really sure what else Law would expect from a man who's literally called the Blazing Sword of Calaglia. ]

Alphen, there are places in Calaglia that aren't as hot as your cooking.

I know you got this way because you couldn't feel pain before, but can you seriously still not tell it's too much compared to what Kisara or even Shionne makes?

[....Oh, seeing Alphen doing that fills Law with big concern. The effects of the Blazing Sword were something that was always dealt with by Shionne. She alone had the power to mitigate and undo the effects the flames had on Alphen's body.

Which raised the concern of what happens if Shionne wasn't around. What if she wasn't available to heal him, or even worse?]

Uhh... Are you sure going for fire is a good idea, Alphen?

But I can feel pain now. Things are different from before. You could just say I developed some habits from the time I still wore a mask.

It's really strange and I don't know how else to describe it. I was just some guy called Iron Mask until you and the others came around.

I don't have much of a choice and you need to focus.

[ Alphen's emotions always burn up with flames no matter. The intensity of flames is only growing but it's definitely not the Blazing Sword from Shionne's Fire Master Core at all. It seems more like he's wielding literal fire. Law's concerns are only normal.]

Show me what you can do, Law! I know you haven't been procrastinating all this time.

[ Law's always working on his training. It's important to him so Alphen is taking this seriously unleashing some of the Sovereign's power. ]

Alright, fine! Don't say I didn't warn you!

[He's not sure he's going to be able to show Alphen whatever he came here to see. He understands what to do, but when it came to producing results, he just didn't seem to get the same ones.

But why? He wanted to use this new power to help and protect his friends, he tried applying it using techniques he already knew... Wasn't that good enough? So why didn't it work...?]

Here I come!

[Law comes charging at Alphen full speed, fists bared and ready.]

But you aren't Iron Mask anymore. You're Alphen now! So maybe you need to work on ditching some of those Iron Mask habits of yours and start figuring out what Alphen likes.

Don't hold anything back because I'm not going easy on you!

[ Alphen is more than familiar with Law's combat formations and approach to battle. He's seen an attack like this many times before.

When the time is right Alphen will attempt to dodge the attack and try to strike back with his Sincleaver blade. He still insists on using a normal sword ontop of the flaming one. The idea of combining his blades together for more efficiency was inspired by Rokurou Rangetsu. ]

Take this!

[ A full sword attack followed by flames bursting. Alphen can only hope that Law will use his full potential. That's why he's being so serious about this entire thing. ]

I haven't exactly figured things out yet. I've only just discovered myself for the first time. It'll be a while until I know what's right.

What about you? Have you come to terms with yourself?

It's... a work in progress.

[Not something he'd feel comfortable admitting to most people, but it's different with Alphen.]

But hey, at least I don't wanna die in a ditch.

Too slow!

[It goes both ways. Law knew Alphen's combat style like the back of his hand, so when that strike comes from Alphen, Law instinctively dodges, tucking and somersaulting to the left.

What he doesn't notice, however, is some of the flames following him, caught up in his energy flow. He pays it no mind, as he leaps towards Alphen, preparing another strike.]

Inferno Punch!

[The flames he unconsciously took from Alphen combine themselves with the flames generated by his arte, ampliflying the flaming fist's power.]

You've made it this far already.

I know your dad's proud of you. It won't be easy moving past our losses and pain but we can be there for each other.

We're friends![ Law's probably heard that line before but Alphen will say it as many times as he needs to.]

Is that all you've got?

[ Law's always improving with his techniques and form. That attack is enough to send Alphen flying off his feet leaving him vulnerable for a moment. The Sovereign's power keeps him from getting completely burned up. He stands on his two feet and charges at Law with another attack. ]

Devastation!!

[ Alphen unleashes a series of sword blows in quick succession leaving almost no distance between them. ]

You got that right. Friends, and don't you forget it!

[And yet he still doesn't feel like he can burden his friends with his problems. Or maybe that he shouldn't.]

You don't have to walk this path alone.

Law, if there's something still bothering you then you can tell us.

[ talk about your feelings more. sharing is CARING. ]

[Law moves in tandem with Alphen's sword slashes, ducking and weaving out of the way with each one. He had to keep his focus up while doing so, even one wrong move could spell disaster for him. ]

That all you got, Alphen?! Then it's my turn!

[The moment there's an opening, Law rushes in, aiming a steady barrage of quick punches at Alphen.]
